Beautiful winters day at Lancashire wedding venue, Stirk House in Clitheroe

I met Rachel and Chris this time last year, after a few chats over the phone we decided to meet and chat weddings. We instantly clicked. Two months later It was wedding time at Stirk House!

Frosty morning bridal prep

On the big day I travelled over to Clitheroe to capture a beautiful and fun filled wedding day in a documentary style for Rachel and Chris at their Lancashire wedding venue, Stirk House.

Our bride Rachel and her bridesmaids were just starting to get hair and makeup done when I arrived at Stirk house. Chris and his groomsmen were hiding the nerves with world record breaking times for showers and suits then straight over to the bar for pre-ceremony drinks.

The day went perfectly, starting with the weather, sun sun sun! We had a little time to have a quiet walk round the frost covered ground so Rachel and Chris could catch up on all the gossip from the night before! With any wedding day you can worry about the weather but with a venue as beautiful at Stirk house, rain wouldn't be a problem, endless stunning photo opportunities inside for us to capture.

Time to party!

The evening reception was just as fun as the daytime! I think the traditional drunk uncle tie around the head dances started even before Rachel and Chris got to shuffle along to their first dance tune! Right in the middle of the dance floor is where I love to be and it was quite a scary place to be with all the shapes being made. Luckily I was able to dodge the flailing forearms and capture some in the action dance shots.

I had the best day being part of such a magical wedding day. Thank you to Rachel and Chris, their amazing family and friends and all the staff at Stirk House. What a wonderful place for a wedding!
