What a fantastic day celebrating Steph and Mike’s wedding yesterday at Owen House Wedding Barn in Cheshire! With autumn well underway and their family and friends gathered together, it was a brilliant occasion to photograph from the morning preparations right through to the evening celebrations.

Owen House is one of those venues I always look forward to returning to. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph many weddings here over the years, and every visit brings something different. The character of the barns and the relaxed atmosphere make it a wonderful setting for couples who want to enjoy their wedding without everything feeling too formal.

The morning began with preparations underway as Steph and Mike got ready for their big moment. There was plenty of excitement building as guests started arriving, ready to watch the couple finally say their vows. Their ceremony was held at Owen House Wedding Barn, with family and friends gathered together to share the occasion. It was a lovely moment watching Steph make her entrance before joining Mike at the front of the ceremony room. With everyone looking on, the couple exchanged their vows and officially became husband and wife.

Once the ceremony was over, the celebrations quickly got underway as everyone relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon together. One of the things I particularly enjoy about photographing weddings at Owen House is how well the venue works for natural photography. There are so many interesting spaces throughout the barns, and the atmosphere encourages guests to simply enjoy themselves. As everyone caught up over drinks, I spent some time moving around the reception capturing those little moments that often become some of the most memorable photographs from a wedding day.

We also managed to find a little time for Steph and Mike to enjoy some relaxed couple portraits. I always like to keep these sessions fairly short, allowing the newlyweds to spend a few minutes together before heading back to their guests. Autumn weddings have their own character, and Owen House Wedding Barn is a lovely setting at this time of year. The rustic surroundings work particularly well with the season, giving the photographs a warm and natural feel. As the afternoon moved into the evening, everyone came together for the wedding breakfast before the celebrations continued into the night. There was a brilliant atmosphere throughout, with guests making the most of every moment.
