Katy and Sam’s Early Autumn Wedding at Thornton Manor

What a wonderful early autumn wedding for Katy and Sam at Thornton Manor on the Wirral. Thornton Manor is somewhere I’ve photographed many times over the years, but I’m always happy to return. Every wedding brings something different, and Katy and Sam’s celebration was no exception.

Katy spent the morning getting ready with her girls in the Thatched Cottage. There were a few nerves during those early preparations, but as the ceremony approached, excitement quickly took over. Sam was also getting ready at the venue before heading across to welcome their guests.

Katy and Sam chose to marry indoors at Thornton Manor, surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a personal ceremony with plenty of emotion, and seeing their reactions to each other gave me some lovely moments to capture.

After the ceremony, everyone could relax with drinks and canapés while the newlyweds spent time with their guests. This is always a great part of the day for natural photography, with so much happening without the need to organise or pose anything.

The early autumn/ late summer weather kept us guessing, but thankfully we found some dry spells and headed outside for Katy and Sam’s portraits. We made use of the beautiful grounds and the steps at the front of Thornton Manor, keeping everything relaxed so they could enjoy a few moments together without being away from their celebrations for too long.

Later, everyone headed into the Music Room for the wedding breakfast before the speeches and evening celebrations got underway. The day finished with Katy and Sam taking to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, surrounded by all their family and friends. Congratulations again, Katy and Sam.
